Dr. Dustin Whitaker was born in Huntsville and raised in New Hope, Alabama. His academic journey began at the University of Alabama where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and met his wife, Caitlyn. He later earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham.
After discovering a passion for urology, Dr. Whitaker then completed his five-year residency at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN, where he became proficient in treating a wide range of urologic conditions and received extensive training in minimally invasive robotic surgery.
Dr. Whitaker’s clinical interests span urologic oncology, with an interest in prostate cancer and kidney cancer, alongside expertise in managing benign conditions such as BPH, overactive bladder, kidney stones, and urinary incontinence. His training included considerable exposure to robotic prostate, bladder and kidney surgery, as well as ureteroscopic/percutaneous removal of kidney stones, minimally invasive options for BPH and sacral neuromodulation for refractory overactive bladder and urge incontinence. He is dedicated to providing personalized and patient-centered care that incorporates the latest technological advancements in urologic treatments, ensuring the best outcomes for his patients.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Whitaker enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, exercising, reading, listening to audiobooks/podcasts and cheering on the Crimson Tide.
Dr. Whitaker is excited to return to Huntsville and looks forward to collaborating closely with primary care physicians to deliver high quality and compassionate urologic care to the North Alabama community.
